Énozar
The énozar is a sub-species of gecko only found on Noéyihn. In addition of the wall climbing ability of geckos, enozars have the special ability of increasing their muscle mass by the help of elemental energy.
Physical traits
Colors palette
The énozar’s skin is commonly composed of three colors, inherited from their parents and can result in very colorful mixes.
The main color covers most of the body, from head to feet. The second one goes from the bottom of the snout to the belly, tail, palms and soles. Their back pattern is either using the second color or a third one.
Back skin patterns
- Stripes (of random width and length)
- Dots (of random sizes and placements)
These patterns are visible from the back of their head to the bottom of their back, but also on their tail. Dots are also located on the top of the snout. In rare cases, énozars can be born with both patterns.
Elemental muscle growth
Common uses
Eras ago, feral male énozars used this technique as love parade to impress a female or show their superiority to other males. Females would use it to please a male or protect their nest against predators.
After their evolution as humanoid, énozars kept a strong appeal for muscles and still use this technique in their everyday life, essentially in their close relationship (please their partner) or just show off. Thereby, it’s common since Era 2 to see enozars growth contests to entertain the population.
Growth technique
This technique requires the use of an external source of elemental energy, which is getting transformed to extra vital energy, slowly making every muscles or a specific group (if user focus on it) grow at least twice bigger than usual.
The most common way for enozars to grow their muscles is the use of the “infinite breathing”: once lungs are full, air is sent to body cells and growth process starts. Subject doesn’t need to breathe out as de-oxygenated air is used in the process.
However, this technique required an affinity to air in order to work. Others can just “absorb” elemental energy such as heat, water, …
“Popping” effect
Extra energy gets naturally consumed after a few hours, slowly decreasing muscles mass to their usual size. However, process can be made faster if subject focuses to release the energy, slowly (a minute or so) or instantly.
In this last case, energy get out of the body so fast that it produces a “pop” sound. Volume gets increased in proportion of the amount of released energy, meaning that huge muscles pop can sound like an explosion. It also produces a shock wave, that could be use as an attack in case of extreme necessity.
A pop will always happens if subject tries to get out of their growth limit, the shock leaving them dizzy for a moment. Beginners may also experience extra elasticity of their skin for a short period of time.
Growth limit get increased with practice or each time a pop happens and can reach hyper, unrealistic sizes.
Noéyihn-C# universes differences
Champion related stories have more realistic limits, that makes muscle growth a technique to use wisely.
- Energy cannot be stored and must be hold constantly. Such pression is difficult to maintain in a fight, as any violent shock could instantly release the energy.
- Growth limit only increase with the elemental level of mastery and is capped to a certain size (three times bigger than usual in most cases).
- Subject must be careful of not popping of getting too greedy: such event is costly for the body, making it weary and weak, leaving user in a weakened state.
